    Angelina Mohanpersadh is the visionary, founder, owner and CEO of Women of Africa Care. The company is an emerging organisation, entering the market in 2022, established in 2021. Even though a new entrant, the company service offerings is backed by >21 years of experience spread across related sectors. Angelina understands these industries, in supporting her as a new entrant as an entrepreneur offering meaningful management services, advisory and advocacy.

    Professional background of CEO

    Having enjoyed 7 years in BHP Billiton (mining sector); Angelina joined Group Five Structured Ingenuity in 2006. The next 7 years in Construction was her training ground for Economic Development (ED) in REIPPPP Round 1 and 2, and other infrastructure projects namely airport, spring grove dam, energy etc. Thriving in BBBEE strategy, management, reporting and consulting in infrastructure projects (renewable energy, water, stadiums, building and construction, manufacturing pipes, quarries) leading the companies move from BEE Level 7 to Level 2, measuring Construction, Generic and Mining sector scorecard for the diverse business unit sector scorecards. Angelina participated in strategic business projects such as "new balls please" where she amongst peers championed Group Five Strategic move by leading +10,000 workforce through change management. From 2015 she joined global companies in importing technology and solutions to SA markets. She worked for EON SA, and Goldwind advocating economic development imperatives, localisation of components, and corporate services support. Her key performance involved Economic Development and BBBEE management in Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) and Operations scope of work in energy projects. She led the organisational transformation scorecard; supply chain preferential procurement scorecard; and ED localisation strategy. She developed policies, plans.  strategic frameworks; and led the implementation, management and reporting on all economic activity related to project activities in South Africa. Her passion for economic empowerment shaped the landscape for community development in project proximity REIPPP requirements.

    Transition to entrepreneur

    The 21 years exposure in key markets involving local and multinational environments, brought Angelina to establishing Women of Africa Care - where her team get to support the industry at large in renewable energy project activities, corporate women empowerment and community development.


    Her early years included 6 years in Financial Sector at Standard Corporate Merchant Bank and Alexander Forbes Financial Services gaining exposure in the corporate aspects of financial industry (Trading stocks and shares, retirement funding investment management).  Angelina loves the energy and robust environment of Mining, Construction and Renewable Energy, and advocates that economic empowerment in these key sectors is significant to creating a robust economy for Africa as the demand for water, energy, minerals and resources with an empowered active population will transform Africa's economic activity globally.


    Angelina's educational background includes Black Belt specialist (2005) applying six sigma principles towards Operational Excellence. Bachelor of Arts in Ministry; Masters in Ministry (Philosophical Frameworks to serve communities). In 2019, she attained a certificate in Strategic Leadership, a master's level of education through Destiny College international (Florida, USA). Angelina is passionate about women empowerment and is involved in women empowerment in both private and corporate environments.  FRIENDS Programme championed by Angelina is a WOAC in-house empowerment programme offering ranges of Women and Young Adult Life orientation programmes to enable women and youth to live meaningful lives. These programmes are on offer to all sectors and communities in need of youth development and women empowerment.


    Angelina is an expert in Economic Development, her involvement in the renewable energy, construction and public infrastructure projects include: 

    1. Advocating SA locally manufactured components and services in construction and maintenance work of project activities.
    2. Regulating economic transformation in rural community regions by involving emerging enterprises, women owned businesses, and job creation in project activities.
    3. Collaboration with industry stakeholders to promote local footprint and maintain technology standards. Dialogues include SAWEA(South African Wind Energy Association, SA Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) local manufacturing working group, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Mineral Resources (DM RE),South African Renewable Energy Technology Center(SARETEC) and Community stakeholders (Mayors, Municipalities, Local Economic Development Officials, South African Police Services, Business Forums, Ward Councilors, and Community Leaders) to successfully execute project activities in SA.
    4. Economic Development Expertise includes:
        4.1  Developing ED scope for Bids
        4.2 Involvement in Contract Negotiations relating to ED scope of offer
        4.3 Developing ED strategies, policies, plans and executing implementation plans for project execution
        4.4 ED and BBBEE reporting, monitoring, evaluation and rectification plans
        4.5 Community Stakeholder Management and Rural Empowerment through Socio- Economic Development,
               Enterprise and Supplier  Development and Skills Development

    She serves the global community weekly through WOAC On-Air (Women empowerment), YALO On Air (Young Adult Life Orientation empowerment) programmes produced by Women of Africa Care, a FRIENDS programme intervention that is sponsored by Gospel 4 Grampian Radio, UK. WOAC Air Crew represents business women, women in leadership, philanthropists, community nurturers who active in empowerment dialogue touching, impacting and transforming lives across >80 countries weekly.

    Owner is the visionary and founder of Women of Africa Care (WOAC), the organisation is backed by Renewable Energy, Mining and Construction experience since as far back as 1999 where owner explored mining industry through managing employee benefits in BHP Billiton mining across Samancor and Ingwe Coal subsidiaries. Owner understands the culture in these industries and is passionate about promoting transformation in these economies ensuring youth, women and men are fairly represented in these sectors through private and public projects. Owner through Women of Africa Care entity offers consulting, strategic support and economic and BBBEE management reporting and analytical services to the industries.
